Aw shucks,... thanx!

I had no idea that upload was screwed up! That's a crazy juxtaposition! :D

"Loud and Proud!",... baby!!

Thanx again!......................;) ;)

Got anything from the Labyrinth soundtrack? I loved those songs :)

I'm afraid not,...

but I just updated those last 4 cuts to 128kbps mp3 files! (...was 56kbps)

I'd have to check the Labrynth soundtrack and get back to'ya. However, I'd surely like to do an number of new Bowie covers. That's after I clear the archives of related material.

...;)

If you take requests, here are some songs I'd like to hear:

- In The Heat Of The Morning
- Cygnet Committee
- An Occasional Dream
- Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud
- All The Madmen
- After All
- Quicksand
- The Bewlay Brothers
- Five Years
- Velvet Goldmine
- Lady Grinning Soul
- Sweet Thing (incl. candidate)
- Fascination
- Golden Years
- Word On A wing
- Sons Of The Silent Age
- Fantastic Voyage
- Teenage Wildlife

Those are some of my all time fav.
Just in case you needed some inspiration!
...but any other Bowie songs will do just fine ;)

My friend,...

You & I think exactly alike!! Those are some of my most favorite Bowie tunes, ever,... too! Notice, that lots of those cuts are not necessarily real mainstream, popular or well known cuts,... but it's indicative of the treasure trove of great material from Bowie's catalog.

Of course, at this time I have none of those "request" tunes recorded, but I'm always open to suggestions from any true Bowie fanatics, and I always need new sources of inspiration!!

If I were to pick a few of your wonderful list,... I'd start with:
- In The Heat Of The Morning
(Bowie Images 1966/7 LP; The Deram Collection CD)

- Cygnet Committee
- An Occasional Dream
(Space Oddity album)

- All The Madmen
- After All
(The Man Who Sold the World album)

- Quicksand
- The Bewlay Brothers
(Hunky Dorey album)

- Five Years
(Ziggy Stardust album)

- Lady Grinning Soul
(Aladdin Sane abum)

- Sweet Thing (incl. candidate)\
(Diamond Dogs album)

- Fascination
- Golden Years
(Young Americans album)

-Word On A wing
(Station to Station album)

- Sons Of The Silent Age
(Heroes album)

- Fantastic Voyage
(Lodger album)

- Teenage Wildlife
(Scary Monsters album)...

Heh,... nearly your entire list is on my list of favorites, too!!!
Great tunes, one and all![/b

I'd be glad to endeavor to cover any/all those tunes, as yet TBA/TBD.

In fact, I do have a cover of "Fantastic Voyage",... but I'm not sure it's "ready for primetime". I have other covers not listed, too,... and as I've shown, there's a wide variance of what I'd call "ready for primetime". Lots of my cuts so far are stripped, bare bones scratch productions, to say the least.

Anyway,... I'll consider all those songs & more. I'll try to work on something new, as time permits.

Oh, By Jingo!! Thanx!!!!!!!!!!

PS: This would be a good time to remind readers that they may post all their Bowie covers on this tread,... so bring'em on!!

"As the World Falls Down" is off the Labyrinth soundtrack, but also one of his other albums. Asking for you to cover one of the songs from Labyrinth just made me want to do it :)

Yeah, well,... post it up when you have something!

I'm aiming toward working on some new material, soon!
Thx so much for the great suggestions!

(Teenage Wildlife!!! In the Heat fo the Morning!! Fill Your Heart!! Kooks!! All the Madmen!!! She Shook Me Cold!!! The Supermen!!! Savior Machine!!! The Width of a Circle!!! Fascination!!! Sweet Thing/Candidate!!! Aaaaaagggghhhh!!! etc.,... etc,...)

Actually, some of my "archive" cuts could stand to be reworked, too! The possiblities are almost endless! All this action TBA/TBD. I gotta practice and learn a lotta stuff, to do justice to those many great tunes!

(Not to mention, I'll continue to bust some things directly outta the archives, as time permits!)

;)

Wish I was a musician. I can't even sing!!!

Awwww! Not a musician? Can't record?? I'm disappointed!

Oh well, thanx mucho for finding this thread and listening, anyway!!

OK,... I've gathered my 15 favorite Bowie cds into my "handy" cd changer,... the 1-of-5 300-cd changers that's most conveniently located at this time,... so I'll be able to do endless random Bowie shuffle play,... for reference and inspiration. No telling what I may decide or come up with,... all as yet TBD.

I'll tell'ya,... after having searched "David Bowie Guitar" on Google,... that most of the guitar charts and tab you'll find on the web is utter shite!! Even the best transcriptions still make me wonder how/why the user transposed into that key,... when the record doesn't reflect that. Other, less qualified transcriptions are next to useless!!!

I'm a big songbook follower, in many cases,... and I currently have one Bowie songbook, & I'm currently seeking out other reasonable sources of material. Most of the "tab" I've found on the web for Bowie has been disappointing.

I'll report back later.

Thanx,... & come again!!!

Here's one that goes way back!!!

Andy Warhol!
This one is labelled (from) 1984, but it very well could have been '83 or '82. My oldest tapes were not labelled very well! What I know for sure is that it's one of my earliest "productions" on the Tascam 244,... so pardon the heinous sound quality! ;)

Two new pence to have a go

I really like this song!
Sound is not that bad for an old recording!
Keep 'em coming! ;)

Got a new round of stuff!

Eh,... I mean old!

DJ!...... ;)

Recorded in 1984 on the Tascam 244, using Tascam mics, an Ibanez Blazer, Peavey T-40 & Casio keyboard. I bounced tracks a fair amount to achieve that many layered "tracks", so this would be considered "highly produced" in my early 4-track days.;)
