kcearl,
ta mate. Tales of a reformed verb junky ptIII.
the celtic link is there (even more so because she's of German heritage - the home of the original celts) indeed.
Thanks for the compliment: this would be the 1st set of words I deliberately set out as lyrics way, way back.
I dropped a 320 into the box if you want it.

Toad,
Thanks mate. I'll have to go & listen to St Stephen to catch the comparison.

LifeLyrics version was great - she had some terific harmony ideas. This one, with Miriam, for printed on reverb reasons amongst others, has a nice haunting feel so I went with it.

Oops. I missed that. Clearly I don't remember her too well since I failed to note that it wasn't her voice :o:D Well done Miriam.

I kinda like the reverb but I'm a junkie....the cello makes this unique too - we get very few real strings on this forum...
I liked the old days where things were soaked with reverb and slapback. So I tended to mix that way when first writing/recording about 5 years ago. Now my mixes have reverb but it's not as noticeable. I feel reverb is an instrument in and of itself and it sets the mood for things.

Toad,
One T & 2 Ns. It's a visually appealling name. & yes, I can hear what you mean though the SE lass sings with more confidence. Their stuff is really hard to find in the ether of no cost - even torrent world. MySpce seems to be the easiest place to get a listen - thath certainly adds to their retro status.
Ido1957,
Reverb does say psych doesn't it. The cellos came up quite nicely: I'm pleased. Thanks for the kind words Gerry.

Dimn my spolling. Maybee eye shud get a dicshunry.

They are hard to come by. I meant St Etienne, not dictionaries.

Lovely stuff ray - I listened a couple of times and felt a few of the timings jarred first time round. Seemed to fit second time round though, so maybe just a little adjustment to the groove of the song needed on my part.

I saw the St Etienne posts above, but it brought the Cocteau Twins more to mind for me.
