My favorite part about this thread is how more people voted for "the darkest sh*t on guitar" choice than any other!!!

I like to detune my guitar until the strings are as slack as they can possibly be. Then, I run my guitar (which I call "Satan's Shit") into 6 Boss Death Metal pedals into a crappy crate amp. The speaker in the amp has holes poked thru it with a pencil. That's some miner shit right there.

For light chords, I like to tune my guitar up 3 steps, throw a capo at 12 and wail away. It's tough to switch in between "miner" chords & these happy chords all in the same song though...which is why I need a double neck.

Hmmm surely some totally dissonant chord harmonized in the minor 3rd and trilled would sound pretty damn dark. However if this 'Dark Sh*t' is going to comprise purely of that chord repeated ad nauseum, I would say the only thing that would be dark would be the temperament of the listener.....
