Any other good ones out there?

Shure SM82- $10
SONY Receiver and 2 3-way Fisher bass reflex cabinets- $10 at church rummage sale.-Richie

Nothing, as music equipment goes.
But I picked up a really cool double-8 film projector once. It cost couple of bucks, I think.

A trumpet from about 1917 that I paid $75 dollors for and I found
out its worth about $2000.

I picked up a vintage 40"s era Slingerland drum kit for $15. It had been painted over so the collector value was ruined. I had planned to re-finish it, but never could find the time. I sold it for $150 to someone who would give it a good home. I also picked up about $300 worth of mic/guitar cables for $10. A Kustom amp for $15. Some old mic's, etc)

I had a friend find a Gretch guitar for $25 (actually his 10 year old kid saw it and went home and told dad) it was something like a Country Gentelman that was worth about $1,000.

Mostly I've found some great old vinyl recordings (in particular old Miles, Cole, etc.)

Belmont Bacon banjo made in 1928. Paid $100, estimated worth about $1200.

Swapmeet: a couple of Shure Unidyne III dynamic mics for $10 each.

i picked up almost all of my mic stands at garage sale i've also picked up a few cheap nasty mics (you never know)...

but like mike i've mostly picked up some nice vynil

Yamaha DX7II $8.00 stand $2.00..One of the keys sticks..But I just midi it works great!

Yo Deville of "da" Cadillac:

A DX-7 II for eight pezzutos? Amazing. Really amazing.

I bought a whole garage once and before I took it home, it burned down. Just my luck.

Green Hornet:D :p :p :p

Peavy Bass-Reflex 18" cab w.Black Widow for bass lessons.

Guild fretless bass outfitted w. Dimarzios-$20

Not super great, but I found a Symetrix CL-150 compressor for $2
A Realistic bulk tape eraser for 75 cents and a Tascam demag wand for $1

An original Van Gogh, I paid 40 bucks for it, sold it for 15 million at auction...

And a cool weedeater for 10 bucks....:p

1958 Fender double-neck stand-up slide for $85. I could have bargained lower--no one knew what the heck it was--but I already felt like a thief and just paid their asking price. I think we all deserve at least one good deal in our musical searches.

Ok after being clobbered I have to retract my previous post and admit the best thing I ever picked up was the girl I'm dating.
(Met her at a church rummage sale.)

How about at a thrift shop?
Just about a week or so ago, I picked up two vintage Zildjian cymbals from the 1960's, an 18" dry ride and a 16" dark crash both in excellent condition, no nicks or keyholing, just real dirty and tarnished. $15.00 for both of them. (they cleaned up real purty :))

At a garage sale I bought a vinyl
album by a group called "Atilla"
(a sort of heavy metal group from the early 70's that came out on stage and played in "dark ages" armor.) The music really sucks! BUT the keyboard player in the group was a fellow by the name of Billy Joel. I went to high school with him and was friendly with a couple of the guys in his first goup "The Hassles" and the guitarist in his early "Piano Man" years was an old buddy of mine. I figure that there has to be some blackmail value in this album. Wouldn't you like to see pictures of Billy Joel dressed up_in leather armor and furs trying ever so hard to look like Conan the Barbarian? Paid a buck for the album (I overpaid).

Honestly, no! In fact, that goes directly onto the lists of scary things I hope I never see. ( Like a nude photo of Earnest Borgnine and Bea Arthur!!! ) LOL- Just kidding you man :)

The cymbals are a great find!
