***THE BROKEN SONG SESSIONS--A TONY NASH EP***
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
-All 5 songs are NOW UP!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
-These are 5 of the most personal songs I have ever written. Very raw, very honest, and very heavy with emotion. They contain themes of depression, suicide, lack of self esteem, sexual abuse, self sabotage/hate, and the hope to be found and the hope for a better life.

-I worked very hard on these songs and put my heart and soul into them. It got so emotional at certain points, that I thought of stopping the recordings all together...but I pushed on. I nearly broke down in tears during the second chorus of "Lonely Boy Broken".

-As they say, good art, never plays it safe...Take a glimpse into a tortured soul, yearning for a better way.
---------------------------------------------------

1.Spend My Time Running

2.All Her Life

3.Go On

4.Waiting To Be Found

5.Lonely Boy Broken
--------------------------------------

This was written, produced, and played by Tony Nash...(me)....

Recorded at Universe Mind Recordings Studio.

Peace, and I hope you dig it!

Heard Go On on your Myspace page. Good writing and singing. At this juncture you should be out in the bars promoting your stuff and selling your EP. Good Luck....

Thank you guys so very much for the kind words!

I have never been confident enough to take your advice ido1957. I have only taught myself to sing and have been very worried. My main thing is my band, Redwater.

These solo songs seem to pop up every few months for me. I have SO much going on in my life and to write about, that I need some avenue to express them. It feels like I HAVE to get them out, ya know? And these songs do not really suit my band well...so I do them.

But I'm sticking with Redwater, and I am so proud of us. I just play guitar mainly in Redwater. We just had a new EP come out--it is up on our site now. I produced that, played on it, recorded it, and mastered it as well! You should check that out to if you care too...

My... This was recorded in a studio? The songs and singing are good. The recording is uhmm... not so hot.
Eq and levels are all over the place. The mixes sound very one dimensional with no real stereo field. I can hear ambient noise (chairs creaking/ movement) in the background on one of the tracks.
I think your songs deserve a lot better production. I'm sure you are knocking them dead live.

Keep it up! :)

This was recorded in my basement and I left the creaks in because I wanted it like you were right with me. I did not want a very sterile detatched feel.

The other comments are great though man! Thank you! I have never performed any of my solo songs live. My band is my main thing.

The solo stuff is straight from my heart and soul pretty much. Just raw and depressing, I think. But that is how life can be...so that's how I did them.

Thanks again!

Still would love more thoughts & comments!

I've gotten around to giving this cd the car test, the boombox test, and soon my surround sound test.

It sounds great in everything so far!

And people that have heard it were impressed. I feel proud!
