well shit!
i'm glad to see this whole thing finally ended in a peaceful resolution. it was an entertaining read though. i think TheRockDoc and mge80 should now armwrestle for bragging rights.

I myself would expect Carvin to go an extra mile after insulting me as they have RockDoc. Like for instance a ~No charge~ for any of it. That would be good business, since it was allowed to become a monster. 1000.00 dollars would not have been too high a PRICE TO PAY, in order to save grace and face. It is called Public Relations. And yes, the customer IS always right. That customer is what keeps you in business. By doing this gracious act, many would start to do business with Carvin just for the fact they go the extra mile, which is almost void nowdays with any company.
It would be such a refreshing rain to experience honor and principles, and yes to feel special as a customer. More special than the almighty dollar!!!
2. BTW mge80, for the record...I am NOT a sheep...but a maneating shark. I have a mind of my own to make decisions, the same as those so-called sheep you named.
I also have half a mind to spank your ass...except you would probably like it, so it would be of no use. Have a good day and find a job where your communication skills will benefit all concerned. Like the Secretary of defense or something!

You know, this thread brings up a point about which I have always wondered. How is the winner of a pissing contest determined? Is is the one who pisses the longest? The farthest? The highest up a wall? Enquiring minds want to know... ;^)

I've dealt with Carvin many times and it seems I almost always have some problem, wrong order etc but in the end it always works out. I dealt with MGood last time I ordered. He was great, only problem was my fault.

Anyway, Mgood called me (after working hours to boot) and got it squared away. *Just in case this is a different Germy, I think the asswipe I have dealt with was named Ledesma or something like that, I've got it written down in my file but I'm going off memory right now. Anyway Marco ended up fixing things for me and sent me a bunch of free strings (although .010 strings are virtually useless to me) which I still realy appreciate. I was gonna get a Cobalt since I am getting back into the FlatPickin scene but since the Martin Rep did me a SERIOUS hookup on an awesome D28
I won't be placing any orders unless I need some parts or accessories or maybe an aucoustic amp with a nice green tolex cover. hmmmmmmI got here from a link @ HC and I love Carvin Gear but yeah, the customer svc at times could be better.

To get a feel for the "Carvinite" attitude just peruse their own forum and see what kind of jackasses hang out there, here's a good example. This type of snide crap is typical towards anyone who isn't into VAI etc and even at times some of the mods will participate. I absolutely guarantee had the snide remarks been reversed the thread would have been shut down and the poster making the insipid remarks possibly banned. That board and it's snide henchmen have lost quite a few Carvin sales and you can be assured they lost at least one in that thread. Yet Carvin allows a certain type of individual free reign over there. As a matter of fact one of the posters was instrumental in getting the old lounge shut down because of his sniping and insults.

For an uncensored Carvin forum, visit the Carvin Museum.
And BTW, the Carvin forum is company property, and theirs to run as they please.

Actually your remark fits right in with what I'm pointing out. And thanks for telling me that Carvin owns the Carvin.com forum, how small minded must a person be to even think that someone could possibly think someone might believe Carvin didn't own the Carvin board.
Also I am grinding no axe here APL, just giving a current example to substantiate facts and also I have been a member of the board over at the Carvin Museum for quite some time. The exact same smarmy folks hang out over there. Maybe you should read the post I linked to before you start casting aspersions or maybe you did and just didn't get the point. I agree Carvin can do what they want and if they want to allow their BBS members to insult, berate and dismiss anyone coming in whom they happen not to like something about then that's not only their business but ours as well, it IS a PUBLIC forum. I'll be very surprised if the kid from South Africa will ever buy from Carvin after the treatment he got from asking a serious question about an amp. Instead of trying to help they just chose to berate insult and degrade his taste in music and by consistently allowing these BBS members to pull this crap then Carvin is condoning it, it IS THEIR BOARD after all.
Don't get me wrong, I like Carvin but I won't defend a bunch of Jackasses. If you choose to do that fine but not me.
