Thanx to many of you guys encouragement. ala(Ment, Trumpsade, BeatsBuy,and CUTTA) Yall just dont know how far a tiny bit of inspiration can carry a young determined guy like myself. Anyways so I can quit bein all sentimental n $hi!.I named it The Big Test because this is like the little bridge for me crossing in the beat making world...from settling for acceptable to accepting damn near perfection... anyways here it goes.

You out cold on those drums.I read the other posts and i know what your going thru with FL.If I have a melody in my head.I always put down the snares first as they act as my metronome. There are so many free sounds on the net.Do a search for vsti. These are virtual instuments that you plug in (if you didnt already know). You can do alot with the sounds that you have you just have to be creative and use effects on them.I've learned alot since I started.Go to my site and listen to a few tracks.if you want any advice PM me or just post on the forum.HOMEREC helped me so much.I want to help others like they helped me.
Oh and change that link it logs you out of soundclick and youacnt get to your site.

Yeah I tried to check it out, but it's asking for a soundclick ID and pass. sadly after all these years I don't have a soundclick account...lol I don't like too many of the music hosting sites... I know myspace butchers the hell outta peoples music.

I forgot to mention the VSTi to you, but you won't really be ready for those until you get that midi controller. I think the midi controller (or workstation if you have the extra $$) will be the biggest improvement on your production. As always with me and I would think most others, once you get that new piece of gear motivation hits you in the face (temporarily atleast).

Like I told you though I don't mess with midi much at all, but in the rare instances I do I got SampleTank 2 a couple months ago. I think it's well worth the money.

And also Reason is a very useful tool as well. Its good to have the knowledge of outboard gear prior to using reason because it simulates everything down to connections. I'm not too fond of Reason myself, but it's a great product though and also great for the money. I won't be ditching my workstation or any samplers for it but that's just my preference, it has a couple of samplers, synths, vocoder, drum machine, reverb and delay units etc... really you name it it just about has it. So if your looking to stay on the software side, it's definitely something you should look into (it's more expensive than SampleTank however).

FL however is perfectly capable from what I hear, I've never used it myself but a lot of people will vouche for it.

Sounds good.
Kick Drum is too low turn it up (maybe about 3db or so).
Also I would turn down the loudest instrument you have (the one that comes in after the rimshot breakdown) Maybe 2 db or so.
And bump up the highhats a little also.

Other than that I like the idea. The arrangement can be a little better though. I would personally take out the rimshot breakdown where they roll, and replace it with the other one you used with the toms and rimshots. And take out some of those break downs where you have like 3 in a row. Just my opinion though. Good work though.

Sounds better, I can hear the kick drum a lot better. That one instrument is still jumping out too loud at me. Also when you use breakdowns, it's good to have something following them up.

I dont know which one youre talking about...the guitar, or is it the melody, or the background piano that plays through out the song? My gut feeling is that you're talking about the low D note on the grand piano

You had me grooving on that one dogg!

Why did you call me "Thumpspade"? That's cold homie!

I'm just kidding.............

Well, looks like I came in late here. Just so much going on. But, I gotta be here for the FAM.

Great idea on the beat! You have a composition going on here. I think if you had some drum rolls it would spice it up... The beats kind of dirty south, but also west... Best of both worlds...

Ya, I'd turn down the lead synth just a little in the hook...

Other then that I like...

I got some tutorial videos coming... Stay tuned... ;)

....Hey, where's your message board on your soundclick? Wanna leave a comment... :D

Thanx homie! I dont have a message board on sound click. I just use that site 2 get my music on the net. Make sure I get first hand access on your videos fam aight!
