I'll cut a but around 1k and see if that helps.

well, i'm listening on work buds, so keep that in mind. my bad for not mentioning it. just a little harshness is what i was hearing...by listening when certain instruments cut in and out, i concluded it's the hats and maybe overheads. if no one else hears it though, just use your own ears and don't take my word for it. MMM is good at hearing freq buildup, and i saw he didn't mention it aside from the low mids, so...

Yeah. I noticed the hihat also. Not sure about the 1k cut, maybe more like pulling the fader down a bit.

I'm just now at the breakdown section. Gotta say, not so much a fan of theatrics like that, but you know, personal preference and all that. :)

There are two crash hits in the song; both are way over top of the mix. And I'd like to see more variation in the drum patterns. Even though I get the genre with its machine like cadence, it needs more.

Wouldn't mind hearing a little more bass.

I thought the song was good and the performances were done well. Good voice, matches the song.

Oh, listened to mix #3 in my studio.

Thanks guys! Gonna bring down the drums a bit as a whole so hopefully gets a little more pleasant as a side effect. Might be a few days while I write a better drum line and I'll put up a new version.

Much better. I'm hearing the vocal more clearly. It sounds a little jolting when the drums drop out altogether without much warning. Some fills would help there, and work on the transitions generally.

Listening to mix #4. Cool song, some really good ideas at work. At times it sounds like many layers of the same guitar which is pretty fizzy and sizzly in the upper mids. They kind of draw my attention and the few times they drop out of the mix, it completely changes and opens up. The drums are interesting.. something about the timing seems a little stiff or maybe lacking in dynamics.. it kind of plods through and doesn't follow the peaks and valleys. Could be a stylistic choice.

When the delay comes on, vocal tone changes noticeably.. You might consider running the same vocal settings straight through that part and running the delay on a separate track with 100% blend.. but that's a very small nit, and the performance sounds really good. Really all of them do, with the possible exception of the drums which again I wish felt a little more organic. Ambitious sounding tune though. :)

There's some annoying sibilance - probably the reverb accentuating it. Can you address the high end of the reverb?
The vocal levels mean that most of the lyric is discernible.
Drums do need variation still.
Interesting stuff.

Definitely more dynamic in the 4th mix with the new drum arrangement. I might bring back the old pattern in a few more places to bump up the energy tho.
The sudden drop before the vocals come in is kind of weird.

Sibilants are better but still stick out.
