Thanks....1st real mic

Thanks to this forum, I just picked up my first quality mic last night. Since I'm recording on a 424 mkIII in a budget home recording set-up, I spent a lot of time reading a ton of posts here, as well as asking a few questions of my own. I ended up with a sm57. I know it's not a condensor, or even that expensive......but I was blow away by the difference when I compared it to my old mic (samson). This is a great message board with lots of knowledge here.

Have fun, get good at using the mic and then eventually add another.

I think you made a great choice! The 57 can be used on almost anything with good results. A good pre well help even more, then you can step up to a good condenser later instead of settling for junk.
