Fender Precision Bass & Fender Jazz Bass, Johnson JG-622-E acoustic-electric

Gibson EB3 SG Bass, Epiphone EB3 SG Bass, Squier Affinity P-bass

I have experience with the Squier Affinity P-bass, Fender Precision Bass and Johnson JG-622-E acoustic electric by way of ownership, and I've at least played both EB3 basses a few times (actually had the Gibson on lay-away, once, but had to let it go, for reasons beyond my control). The Squier's not a bad bass, and the Player Pack that it came with was the umph I needed to get going as a bass player, as well as helping me to develop some guitar playing chops. In the future, both the Squier and Fender P-basses will end up in my music recordings, as there are some things I play that's better with flatwound strings, and some things better with roundwound strings, so I'll upgrade the Squier a bit, and all will be well with my world of bass playing. :)

there is a bass..

there is a bass in this i would love to hear/play and its the sexiest looking beast from out of space its the teisco spectrum bass (full scale w/3 split pups)anybody got one, wanna sell it?I´ve only ever seen 1 example

my classic Alembic Series 1
Don't even discuss anything that has any kind of backgrond noise, anything less than twin vari-Q parametric eqs on board, and plays so easily it feels like an extension to my body.

Warwick is close, but the feel just ain't there for me. There are some nice custom made basses though that I'd consider.

I also own and use a 5 string squire POS that is nice for $250 used from the 80s. That's my cheapo gigging bass. Alembic for recording, fun playing, or just anything that requires me to move quickly or express myself.

almost forgot, for that one particular tone it can get that's really meaty, a gibson ripper bass can't be beat (think classic kiss tone and classic nirvana tone). Never owned one but a mate owned one and I loved it for that one amazing sound it got, the rest of it's sounds weren't very useful to me and it wasn't terribly playable, although it might just be that long scale feel I don't like.
