Hmmmm.... I can't comment on the style, since it's not a genre I normally listen to, but from a purely recording stand-point, it needs A LOT of work....

Everything is muddy and indistinct, there is no depth to any of the tracks, and the drums especially sound very thin and reedy....

It needs a re-mix in a big way.... get those tracks out of the one big centered mess and separate 'em -- panning, EQ, ambient effects are all tools you can use to get some air around things.

It's a start - but you're only at the foot of the slope! Keep at it....

It's not quite heavy enough. A little too Karen Carpenter - Lionel Ritchie influenced for me. :)

Seriously, though, in addition to Bruce's comments, the first thing I would do is tape your cymbals and move the mics away from them. They kind of drown out the rest of your mix.

It is some surprizingly interesting stuff, though. Never heard anything quite like it.

Wouldn't call it gothic metal :)

Well I agree it needs a lot of work. Sounds dirty especially the guitar tone which sounds muddy. And why is guit mixed it in the center again? The cymbals are harsh. Kick is weak. Bass is pretty ok, but lacks hi end.

Redo the drums...where's the bass?

Oh...by the way, Rod Stewart use to sing folk music, back in England, before he came to NYC and remade himself...just a thought.
