I'm surfing eBay for some high end Teac cassette decks, you know, the ones with the dbx, dolby B, C etc .... and all the other higher-end features. Can someone please tell me which models you'd recommend I look for ? Thanks!

Daniel

The one I have, called the V800-X has all the features you mentioned and also comes from the golden mid to late 80's design paradigm era.

There was the replacement model called the V900-X which was much the same machine with a couple of extra frill features like automated fade ins and outs and HX-Pro, headroom extension circuitry.

Beyond those, there was also the Z-Master series which came in a 3 model line. These machines were true beasts both in the size, weight and overall look! I used to dream about owning one of those but never had the coin to pay for them at the time of when they were new in that same era, mentioned above.

I believe there was a Z-1000, Z-3000 & Z-5000.

I had a brochure on them somewhere and will scan a picture or two if I can find it.

Cheers! :)

Thanks Jeff! I can see that these are generally not plentiful on eBay. Will have to be patient and hope something nice comes up.

Oh, and if you can find the brochure and scan it then I'd be grateful! :)

Thanks again!

Daniel :)

Teac gear and Tascam gear are one and the same ;-)

Depending on which part of the world you are in, and the vintage of the gear, you may find a Tascam deck which suits your requirements.
