Hi All,
I have been restoring Teac –A3340 for some time. I have sorted out almost all the issues now and have now encountered a last problem that is stopping me from getting it all finalised.
During the restore process, I discovered that one of the 4 RECORD MODE switches was faulty, it had been damaged sometime in the past and what I found was that 2 out of 4 small copper sliders that get pushed up and down (when you flick the switch) were missing. I could not find a replacement switch anywhere and I had an old 2 way switch lying around so I dismantled and used those two small copper sliders in this switch but it does not really work; sometimes the connections make and break correctly and most of the time they don’t. As a result, the recording or erasing does not always work and also you get noise breaking in.
I am desperate to find this switch in order to finish this project but looking around on ebay etc, I cannot find it anywhere.
I am wondering if someone has a switch like this lying around or if someone knows a source where I can buy it from. I am talking about 1 of the 4 record mode switches that are located near the bottom right hand corner of the machine. I am sure it is a 4 pole single throw switch.
Any help in this matter will be highly appreciated.
Kind Regards
Annie
