tdk vs. generic cdrs

So I want to make demo disks to pass out to people as promotion for my album.

Is there a huge difference in quality between tdk and some generic spindle of cdrs? TDK cd's are branded (they say TDK on the inside ring, don't think it looks good) but generic cds are unbranded, which I like.

Please give me your opinion on what I should do. Thanks!

Any cd is going to work for you. The biggest factor is what you are using to burn them, and how many errors are going to be inherent in the data. If you are just burning cd's to give to friends and family, it won't make much difference. But if you are going to burn them to pass to a mastering house, or a studio to mix, it will.

Like Rokket said, the cd doesn't matter as much as the burn process. Slower burn speeds will result in a better burn with less errors.

The best burn speed depends on the drive. Slower is not always better. Without error checking, you are just guessing.

I found my 1st delaminating CDR this very weekend.
I've had it for about 3 years. Stored in the right place the right way etc etc. VERY cheap it was but when I fetched it to copy some data the backing ink/paint was flaking away taking the "silver lining" with it. I guess 3 years is OOK but I have cassettes that've lasted since '73 & are still doing a nice job.
So I'd say, from the above limited annecdotal experience/info base buy as well as you can.
