Greetings...someone on another forum suggested that I post this question here. I'm thinking about a vocal processors as opposed to just a generic processor and hope that you folks can give me some input on the TC Helicon vs. whatever else is out there....

I recently purchased a Lexicon LXP-15 so that I'd have additional effects that I was going to run through my Mackie specifically so I could have some additional vocal effects.

However, the only way to make it work is rather awkward and I'm thinking that I really should have bought a real vocal processor with XLR in/out. One thing I hadn't thought about was that I'd want to do a lot of changing from song to song (and sometimes in the middle of a song). The other problem is that with my mixer, I have to run it from the insert into another channel in order to make it work the way I need. I've been running through a volume pedal in order to add some swells when I want them....again, less than ideal. That's why I'm thinking a dedicated vocal product with XLR in/out will better suit my needs.

I thought about the Digitech units, but I haven't really been all that impressed with their other devices, so now I'm thinking about the TC Helicon products.

Obviously, there's the VoiceLive floor unit and they've also got the various rackmount units.

If anyone who's used them or is currently using them on stage could give me some feedback on their experience with the quality and ease of use, I'd appreciate it. They're pretty expensive and I want to be sure I do a lot of research before plunking down a lot of money on something that gives me the same issues I'm having with the Lexicon.

Well I have a TC Helicon rackmount that I use for vocals sometimes and it sounds ok. I have the low end, T300(?), so I have to change knobs and that sucks. The higher end model can save patches and thats exactly what you need for live use. Just save each song's settings per patch.

Hmm...so for those who've used them, how much do you use them? I mean, are you using 70% or more of the unit's features/potential? Or are you just using a few of them?

I've been researching more and I wonder if I'd use all the features. I don't want any kind of mic modelling and there might be 1 song where I'd use the harmony features (unless they were simply mind-blowing).

Lead vocal thickening? What the heck is that?

And they talk about live pitch correction. Anyone got any feedback on how well that works? Are they saying it corrects your vocal if you're a little sharp or flat? I'm having trouble believing that it could work all that well.

I appreciate the input folks!
