There is no question that Starmaker has taken the band to a new level.
These guys get in the trenches ,have even been seen signing pictures and talking on cell phones at the show.
Bob even introduced us to KC's ( KC & Sunshine Band ) former Hair Stylists friend and we got to go for a fly in Puffys new wings

In Canada tributes still work , showbands ( those Ramada Inn days ) are making a comeback in the Casinos. Original bands play small dives across the country getting anywhere from $100.00 - $300.00 a night. Well known groups wait until the summer and do festivals where they can make some decent money.
In Daves home town ( Nashville ) bands play for tips and when you want to showcase it costs $500.00 for a 6:00pm - 6:30 slot.
All in all if we were to all right books and sell them to each other we could probably do ok

I'm a newbie who lost his old password here, but also a Singer/songwriter/musician with over 10 years exp. and I've been signed to a label twice. This info should also help you find that email.
I asked you specific questions regarding the content of Indiebiz, as it would apply to me. Answers would be greatly appreciated in a timely manner, I posted this here hoping to get your attention...as this topic has.

I went to a pool party once at Neil Pearts place years ago when our drummer and him were friends. Big pool and good eats. Saw his original I think they were black Tamas in the basement with another kit setup across from it. Another drummer from St Catherines " Mike Phelan " and him would just sit across from each other and let it rip. Good people ......to bad abouts Neils wife she was a classy lady. Its stange about drummers they all seem to get along amazing without any attitude. I go to Namm every few years and its like the who's who of drummers all hanging out being cool.
My 21st was at a club in Barrie Ont which was a Disco / Bands
My room was a walkin closet with a single bed. The door could only open about a foot before hitting the bed. A couple of big girls in there and it was a crowd.

I guess the point is that if you've read his book and thought it was crap - say it, if you've signed up for his service and been ripped off - say it. But don't just call him a scammer if you've had no real dealings with him. I'm one of the four or five people who have posted to this thread who have had actual real dealings with him - although I admit, my dealings were very limited - but I did not feel as if he stole my $10. Maybe he is a scammer, but so far the accusation has been thrown without one single person popping up who actually was scammed by him.
It's a general truth that when people don't have real evidence with which to hurt people they resort to name-calling. I don't know for a fact that he doesn't deserve it...but until I've seen some evidence that he does I'm going to remain skeptical.

If you're doing no promotion and not into that part of the business, you can make more doing covers. A good original band will kill a cover band with earning power in the long run though. It's all about building the brand.
Regarding pay to play, that was put in place because bands expected people to just show up. It's a good deal for the bands who can sell tickets because they keep all the money.

In a nutshell:
I had joined for a year and within 15 min tried to get a refund when that didn't look possible I tried to get the membership reduced to 3 months. I was told there was not a chance in hell that was going to happen so I was on for a year. I went to Dave’s BBS only to see another customer posting how dissatisfied he was with the service. The next day his post was gone. I posted and within 12 hrs a my post was gone.
I was looking for specific things that Dave had advertised and didn’t get any of them. And he lost my CD!!!!
Im out $160.00 Canadian if I would have spent $10.00 I would be as sceptical as you. I have even given our promotion guru friend the chance to put his money where his mouth is for all to see and he ran from that idea like a cop to a donute shop . Like a few folks on here if been at this for a while I wouldn’t slam or talk negative about anything unless I had first had experience.

Pashop, I stand corrected. I reread the the thread from the beginning, and although I had read the entire thread earlier, I did get some of the posts confused with eachother. You do have some cause for complaint.....although I do think that you would have been more satisfied if you had spent more than 15 minutes on the site before you asked for a refund.
The main service the site offers is the message board, on which you can post any questions you have and Dave plus other experienced people will answer you and give advice, and basically consult with you and try to help you with whatever it is you're working on....I doubt that after fifteen minutes you had already posted questions and received bad advice.
But I still think that you should have received a refund or that they should have bumped you down to the one month option like you asked. Even if it's not their policy to give refunds in that manner I think it would have been more considerate of them. Since you basically did not even use the service. Most department stores will give your money back for a pair of shoes that you bought and decided you didn't want before you even tried them on. Plus, INMHO it would have been smarter businesswise....because you wouldn't be on this board letting people know how indiebiz didn't give you a refund.
I'm interested to find out if pumpkin has taken advantage of his comp account yet and if he has found the site helpful.
I don't know who Paul Tucci is....but I bet he's good looking. My name is actually Bertucci, but "Tucci" makes a better handle.

The only difference between you and those folks is that you believe your own hype and will obviously fight till the death to prove it. They just take the money and run.
