I'm looking at a Tascam US 122 or 144 mkII, wondered if anyone had experience with the device. Mostly tracking acoustic fingerstyle guitar, bit of vocals. Monitoring is a must.
Anyone used either of these? They look nice and for the price difference I'd probably opt for the 144 as it has more bells and or whistles.
thanks!

Do yourself a favor, and go for the gusto...get a 424 mk2 (look 4 a minty one on junkbay)
a couple bucks more, but worth it!
oh shit, sorry I overlooked the "US"- part
I would go with the analog before the digital,
but that's just my opinion.
but, I do own a US-122 that works pretty good,
I only use it to transfer my analog into the computer though.
I'm probably gonna sell real soon though, 'cause I have an alesis masterlink that does just fine.

Thanks for your advice, according to their site the 424 mkII is no longer available. I'm actually looking for a USB interface to record into a DAW, which is why I liked the US 144 mkII. The Firewire interface I liked has (fw 1082) has also been discontinued...but for what I need to do I think USB 2.0 will be fine.

I own a mark1 us144.
It has driver issues to make you weep and the phantom power doesnt work out of the box,a fact I only discovered after the supplier went bust.
Tascam uk support is,kindly put,unsupportive.
I would genuinely suggest buying something else.

How do you use the US-122mkII to convert analog tapes into the computer? I have the 122 and the 424 mkIII portastudio
