Just set up monitors and sub. I put down a drum track then came back and put guitar to it. The guitar is about half to a second behind the drums. What causes this?

What kind of computer (CPU and memory)
What operating system
Which version of Sonar
What audio interface are you using
How are you mic'd and how are you monitoring

Event 2 /2.6 ghz processor. It's made for audio. I think the Tascam US 1800 is causing the problems. Had everything working fine with a receiver and two little speakers, sounded like crap. Upgraded to monitors and a sub running everything through Tascam, now the I can't record correctly. Guitar running direct to the interface is behind the drums like a second. HELP!!!!! About to throw this crap out the window.

Can't you just move it over to sync? (If you were in time, it should be that everything is exactly the same amount out) There is always a little delay. I use a compensation to line mine up better, but it still isn't perfect, so I have to go in and nudge it in place. I have another software, but latency is just a way of life.

So is the guitar behind the drums while you are recording the guitar or when you are playing back the project with the drums and the guitar recorded? If it is when playing back the project then you need to adjust the 'Sync and caching->Record Latency Adjustment' for the Tascan. You may have to select it from the list and play with the values to get it right. Also, check to ensure that your 'Driver Settings->record and playback timing masters' are set to the Tascam.
If the issue is happening while you are recording you probably aren't monitoring on the Tascam appropriately.

Is there a count in of the metronome before the recording begins to roll?
If so go to preferences/midi and somewhere there is a dialog on the count in, set it to zero.
I experienced that sync issue on a few of my Sonar set ups, after upgrading along the way

I'm having similar syncing issues as we'll with my drum machine. It's always off and I can't figure it out. I tried it on able ton live and it works perfectly but not on producer 8.
