I just bought a Tascam M3500 but with no owner manual. I don't seem to manage to get the reverb returning on the Aux 5/6. Does anybody knows the routine on the desk as it is helpful when you sing etc?
Tascam UK couldn't provide me with a manual as well. Do you know where I could buy one, even a copy from someone or do you know of another address on the planet ???
Dear Ghost of FM,
thank you for your help, I did try that when I first face my problem. Effectively it work's that way but I still would like to know what is the original routine on the desk. Do you have any other idea on where to find a copy of the manual.
Follow the links to their contact area of the site for phone numbers and order the manual from their parts department in the United States or Canada if the UK is sold out.
It's your only hope as I have never seen a free download-able one available anywhere on the web for this mixer.
Good luck.
PS;
If my patch suggestion works and does the job you need it to do, why try to re-invent the wheel?...just go with it and enjoy if that's the only issue you are having with the board. If there is more problems, then by all means, order the manual.
What I do on mine is to use the line inputs for Aux returns (since the M 3500 only has two dedicated stereo Aux returns). This gives you 26 VERY nice Aux returns for effects or even just more line ins.
Dear Track Rat,
that one of the first thing I did when I first got the desk, but I am convince that there is an other way to do it. Jeremy told me that he sold you the manual, could you please have a look if you can. I just email Tascam USA to order an owner manual, I would be very grateful for your help in the meantime.
It's like this. The M3500 channel are equiped with inputs of tape returns on RCAs, line inputs on unbalanced 1/4", and mic inputs on XLRs. As far as AUX returns, you only have four mono inputs with pan (so two stereo or four mono returns). That's your only choices you have. You can use the mic inputs as balanced +4 tape returns but I don't recommend it. Tape into the tape returns allows you to use the flip function and return to the line inputs of channels that are used as tape returns simultainiously with the monitor faders controlling effects return levels (along with the line input trim controll). So far I've tried damn near every configuration on inputs and going multitrack out to the tape inputs and using the line inputs as Aux returns is the quietest and most flexable in my humble opinion.
