I recieved my Tascam DM 3200 in good order.

I also purchased a IF-FW/DM FireWire Interface Card.

My aim is to use the DM3200 as an Audio interface with my PC. Via the firewire card.

Has anyone been able to use the IF-FW/DM FireWire Interface Card with the Tascam DM3200?

Please let me know.

I am using it with a DM24 if that's any help.Works fine here.

Tascam Dm3200 and IF-FW/DM???

You say your IF-FW/DM works fine with the Dm2400, was there software you had to install.???

Hi fraserhutch,

could you describe your setup and experiences with the card?

I'm considering getting the card because my motu 2408 pci card won't work with the new Macs and I need to look into another solution of getting audio to and from the DM24.
I'm using Digital Performer and really liked the 2408 because of its 3 TDIF slots.. worked nicely with the DM24 - and with DP, obviously...

Yes, there are drivers and a control-panel applet that need to be installed. This part is pretty much painless.
I also had to update the software in my DM24, which was less painless, but that should not apply to the dm3200.

I got the card with the first rev of the drivers. It absolutely would NOT work, and I was pissed as hell.

However, once the first update came out, the drivers have been rock-solid.

The only hitch is that sometimes the drivers do not get loaded propoerly (if you turn on your computer before the dm3200, for example), and you therefore have to manually reset the drivers. The control-panel makes this a breeze, so it really is a non-issue.

Once properly loaded, I have yet to have the drivers fail.

Two thumbs up.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the quick answer fraserhutch!

One last question, are you on a pc or a mac?

Seems hard to find any user experience with the IF-FW/DM on the net...

I'm on a PC.

There were a number of users at the now defunct Tascam forums. I don't know where they now hang out.
