Hi there - I'm trying to decide on which digital mixing system to go with.

Here are my options
1) DM24 ($1000+ on eBay)

2) Yamaha 01v96 v2 ($1800 used)

Things I'm interested in:
- Sound quality
- Ease of use
- Quality of compressors, effects, etc.

The Yamaha is more expensive, but I'll get it if there is a significant benefit.

Any opinions or advice would be appreciated
thanks

I personally love most everything about the the 01v96 v2. It could benefit from dedicated transport controls, but you could always assign user assignable controls to cover those functions (or get a dedicated transport control like the new wireless one from Frontier). On the other hand the few times I have played on a DM-24 it has proven itself to be very straight forward and comfortable to use (Tascam seems to strive on making comfortable products to use, whereas Yamaha kind of has the "Stuff as much stuff into as little space as possible" philosophy). Both are venerable IMHO. Personally If I was to choose, I would go with 01v96 v2, as I think the overall FX, and EQ are better. I am trying to get ahold of a DM-3200 right now to test. It seems to have all the features I need.
