I've had the DA-20, since they first came out 5 years or so ago.....nary a hiccup. I bought it new. I always use the "skip" feature (essentially a fastforward/rewind to the next song ID...or 3 songs later, if you push it three times, etc), as it is impossible move the transport at a fast speed to an exact location, otherwise. I mix to it all the time, then bounce back to the computer via SPDIF, for final editing and CD burning. No feature that I know of to tell *head hours*, but I would guess I have at least 500 on mine..... not so many really, I suppose.

oh yeah....I bought it because it was the least expensive DAT machine on the market at the time, that I could get new. Unless you are getting a good price on a used one, I might be leary, just because of the mechanical garbage that goes on inside one of those beasts.

Re: Tascam DA-20

Thanks guys . .

Actually, I just bought one . . And very pleased too . .

It'll be ideal for some locational recording I wanna do
soon . .

Once again.. Thanks for your comments . .

I guess I'm lucky I saw the DA-40 for $400 in perfect
condition. I have had the beast for about 6 mo
and it works perfect.
