Hi, I picked up a non working DA-78HR recorder to find it had a broken Gear under the left hub. See photo.
The tascam Part number is M00607100A (Reel Table Assy S). Does anyone have one or know where I can purchase one? Or maybe someone has a parts unit ?
Please contact me.
Thanks.IMG_4408.webp

You can try calling Tascam directly. @sweetbeats has numerous times directly called them and gotten parts.

There’s also the possibility of repairing the gear. Possibly some superglue and a hose clamp to clamp it all together may work.
A drop or two of superglue, snugging up the hose clamp sealing the gap and a shot of accelerant may just do the trick.

Better to get a new part, but myself, I’d at least try to fix it. Got nothing to lose. Worst case, it’s still broken.

Thanks RFR,
I have actually contacted Tascam and they told me they had no record of the part number from the service manual. They said they would look into it. Not too promissing. As far as trying to repair it not possible . There is a tooth missing. I have looked at service manuals for a few DA- series, and they all his a different part number . Strange because I am quite sure the transports are the same. Hummmm?
anyhow, Thanks and the search continues for a scrapper or the part.
Cheers.

Ah missing tooth. Hard to figure out the exact damage from a small pic on my phone.

Even if nothing comes out of Tascam, it would probably be pretty easy and cheap to pick up a parts deck on eBay. May just have to wait a bit before one pops up.

fleebay prices are crazy these days. On top of that i am in Canada so add 30% exchange and then shipping and then fleebays new taxes. What a Rip.
Great place to sell, but buy , not so for Canada.
