Tascam 688

I have a 688 that I am interested in selling but it has its problems. The play button dosent stay depressed and the fader on ch7 has a short in it.The average quote I recieved on getting it fixed was around 200.00. I really don't want to put any money into it but do I have to in order to sell it? also what is the going price for a 688 now anyway I've seem the prices range from 300.to 1000.

i purchased a 688 a few months ago for 600. i think i got my money's worth, but i dont know what the going price is on them.
i'm sure you could get rid of it as is(ebay), but you might be better off fixing it first, and selling it to someone like me for 600 bucks...!
