Tascam 464 and 488 head base pressure spring / plate - how do you get this part out?

Hey Cory, I hope all is well on your side. Just a small update and question. After lots of time and pictures (so that I can put it all back again), I needed to totally disassemble the cassette mechanism - oil was everywhere. I cleaned it up real good, took lots of time. Ordered a belt, replacement plastic gear etc... and was about to re-assemble. Then hit a bit of snag. One of the screws (M2.6 3mm bind head machine screw), I unintentionally stripped (it just turned endlessly). I know I can get these types on eBay from China (most are 4mm though) but I'm unsure if they will thread right. What would you suggest in this instance, if you were in my spot? Photo attached. And by the way, the one in the photo was taken when I was removing the screws but later I must have slightly over-tightened it, causing the rather delicate threads to strip (note to self: always use small micro-screwdriver which has less torque, don't over-tighten these tiny screws)

Are you confident the threads in the formed steel bracket are intact?

I tell you what I would do…I’d dig through spares and find a replacement. That might not seem helpful to you, but I can do the same for you. Let me look and see what I have some time this weekend and follow up with you. If I have one I can mail it up to you.
 
Wow, Cory, that is so kind, thank you (once again). I did look through some junk electronics I have, some portable cassette units, a couple of boom boxes but could find nothing which fits (I also used for reference the service manuals, where possible, but could not find a fitting screw). And to answer your question, the steel bracket holes (the first ones the screws go in through) don't have any threads, only the holes in the motor do and they seem intact - they seem to be of a thicker and harder material vs the fine screw threads. Thanks again my friend.
 
Ohhhh okay…the bracket is a pass-through to the motor, and the threads in the motor chassis are okay. Alright. Let me see what I can find. Worst-case scenario I have a really good local hardware store, walking distance from me, with a really good selection of metric hardware…as a fall-back.
