does Tascam 428 work W/ Pro Tools 6.7 Le



i need help cause i can't use pro tools

Yes and no. I believe the control surface of the 428 can be set up to control Pro Tools, but it audio part of it will never work. The MIDI i/o works, too.

If you don't know already, to use Pro Tools LE you have to have of the the Pro Tools interfaces: mBox, 002 rack or 002. No way around it, unfortunately. There is a version of Pro Tools (Pro Tool M-Powered) that works with many of the M-audio interfaces these days, too.

I had a Tascam 428 for years. Its a sweet little piece of gear. Works really well with Cubase, but yeah it won't let you run Pro Tools.

Your cheapest way into Pro Tools is a first generation Mbox- ie. NOT the Mbox 2. The 2 just came out so the original mbox's price dropped quite a bit.

Its important to do some research before you buy something. Its *really* well known that Pro Tools only runs on Digidesign hardware. I'm surprised you didn't know that.

Anyway, if you're set on Pro Tools for some reason then you'll have to grab a Pro Tools LE interface. If the 428 is new maybe you can return in or trade it back in.
