[Hi everyone,
I just bought a mk3, but I don't know about recording, just the basic( I'm a musician that's it)
Now , and tired to be a recording studio's slave, I'll make my own one, step by step, but I will; just want to make my own CD
A friend told me that this machine is good only for demos( right?) and that is digital ( right?)
Could I edit the recordings in my computer? ( no mac, just pc )
with a protools software , can I improve this machine or at least the final product?

Your "friend" was wrong on both counts.

Your machine is not good for demos; it's great for demos and much more.

Your machine is not digital. It is an analog, 4 track, cassette based recorder and analog is just fine for recording music! If you don't believe me, just as the Beatles.

Having recorded your four tracks on the 424 mkIII, you can mixdown to your PC and use ProTools to add flavor to your analog recordings, but I don't recommend it.

Learn to use your Porta, the way it was designed is good enough for great demos.
