[Hi everyone,
I just bought a mk3, but I don't know about recording, just the basic( I'm a musician that's it)
Now , and tired to be a recording studio's slave, I'll make my own one, step by step, but I will; just want to make my own CD
A friend told me that this machine is good only for demos( right?) and that is digital ( right?)
Could I edit the recordings in my computer? ( no mac, just pc )
with a protools software , can I improve this machine or at least the final product?
Thanks for your patience and may God bless you all.
Andi ;)

Your "friend" was wrong on both counts. :(

Your machine is not good for demos; it's great for demos and much more. :)

Your machine is not digital. It is an analog, 4 track, cassette based recorder and analog is just fine for recording music! If you don't believe me, just as the Beatles. ;)

Cheers! :)

Having recorded your four tracks on the 424 mkIII, you can mixdown to your PC and use ProTools to add flavor to your analog recordings, but I don't recommend it.

Learn to use your Porta, the way it was designed is good enough for great demos.
