I currently use a Tascam 414MKII to run my mic signal into my computers line-in input from the 414's monitor out rca connecter. I am thinking of selling the 414 and buying a dedicated mixer, at the moment I'm looking buying the Behringer Eurorack MX602A - http://www.behringer.com/02_products/prodindex.cfm?id=MX602A&lang=eng .

My knowledge in this area is restricted so basically all I need to know is will the Behringer do what I described above for the Tascam - I don't wanna get rid of my Tascam and find that the Behringer doesn't do what I need!

Thanks, Neill.

Yes, the 602 will perform the same function as the 414. The only advantage I can see is the phantom power. Disadvantage is you lose a pretty decent portable recorder. You should be able to get a much better mixer for what your 414 is worth unless it's in poor shape. You should be able to get that 602 for well under $100. I paid $90 for my 802 brand new and still have my 414. ;)

I was planning to spend the spare $200 or so on something else like effects or a j-station.
