Hey all (my first post),
My 388 has a problem with track 1. It records and playback just fine, and the meters are fine also. But it sounds bad.
It sounds like it is WAY over compressed and has the "pumpy" over compressed sound. This is happening all the time, both with the NR and without (thought it is more pronounced with the NR on).
It is really noticable when recording stuff with quick dynamic changes and lots of transients, i.e. drums.
Is the NR goining on that circut board? Is the tape way out of alignment?
