I think I see why 388's are getting so pricey... Dave's has all of them!
and he's developing the "mountain of sound"

Aw, c'mon!

Is it ever done?...........;)

Damn, still haven't heard back from the guy yet.

I might either go for 32 that is for sale locally or a 38, if I don't hear back on the guy with the 34. If all else fails, to hell with it and I'll just buy some more tape and splicing supplies.:D

Yeah.

I don't remember the last item I bought.
Maybe the DP-02cf in April '08.;)

Well,

Tascam 38
Tascam MSR-16 (needs counter roller* -- need the funny pliers to take it off...)
Teac 22-4
2 Otari MX5050BII-2 (one not working right)
Fostex 80
Teac A-3300SX

So, question, I don't use some of these very frequently. So what is the best way to maintain when not in frequent use?

* No longer avail from Tascam.

Jinn, what funny pliers? Maybe I can swing by next time I'm up in Portland and get that pulled for you and then you send it to Terry Witt to be re-rubbered?

Keep them dry and covered when not in use and power them up and let them warm up evey few months are all good general long term storage maintenance ideas.

The roller is held in place by a circlip, hence a circlip plier to take it off. I broke the tip on the pair I had, using it for other than its intended purpose....:o just need a new set. No worries. :)

Well, it doesn't look like the 34 is going to pan out. However, I did pick up the deck from my friend who used to be in radio. She gave me a Teac A4300SX. I'll be putting it through it's paces this weekend. Oh yeah, she still had the original box!:D

congrats! a thirty four would have been nice but hey a a4300sx is no slouch either.

Hey Dave,

I've been around here for a couple of months now... I didn't realize what a collection you had! I've listened to a bunch of your recordings but good god man, you have a lot of machinery! I noticed 3 M-520's in your pics, are they all functional, or are any of them parts boards? I've been trying to get my hands on 3 of the orange eq caps for quite a while now, if you have any spares would you be willing to pass them on to a fellow 520 owner? If not no worries, it just bugs me when I look at the thing:).

Sorry,...

I don't have any spares!...........;)

Sweetbeats or Herm might be able to fix you up, but I know how the missing caps can be annoying sometimes.;)

Ps:...

thanx for listening to my stuff!
There's a lot of it out there!;)
I'd like to work up something new, maybe soon.

Hey thanks for the reply, no worries man, I'll get some eventually... even if I end up with another giant 520 sitting somewhere around my house:)

The Elvis Stamp replica is a wall clock!

What time is it?

Time to Rock & Roll, mama!;)

a clock!!

even better than a jig-saw!

It at least serves a purpose, I just get the question oh is that an elvis puzzle?

"yes"

"oh, have you ever taken it out of the plastic and done it?"

"no"
