New here, and just wondering if anyone could help....

I'm currently using a Tascam 34 for some recording and I'd like to start bouncing tracks but I've no experience with this at all.

Currently my set-up for recording is a little ramshackle. For mixing into the tascam, I'm using a TEAC 2A mixer, and for monitoring and playback I'm using a beringer eurorack with 4 inputs.

Say for example I want to bounce tracks 1 and 2 onto 3. I've tried bouncing two ways: First, by inserting the track outputs for tracks 1 and 2 back into the TEAC and arming those two channels for record on track 3. Unfortunately, the signal is very weak and noisy. (This first result seems strange to me, because when the same outputs are inserted into the beringer for monitoring, the signal is loud and clear) Second, I tried plugging the output on the beringer to the TEAC and assigning it for track 3, but this yielded no results and a lot of electronic noise....

I think the answer is simple, and it lies somewhere in the fact that I'm probably unable to use my monitoring mixer as an output for bouncing, and monitoring simultaneously. That, or I'm using my output select controls incorrectly. Whatever it is, I'm pulling out my hair trying to bounce.

Hope someone can help...

looks like I'll need a separate mixer, thanks j.harv.

Have you tried patching your Recorder's Outputs into 4 Line Inputs on the Model 2?
The Model 2 doesn't have Tape Returns right? I think you need the MB-20 for that.
Maybe look into the MB-20. They pop up on Ebay quite a bit.
The MB-20 has Tape Returns and has a Stereo Monitor Output.
Anyways, try the method I mentioned above to try and troubleshoot
where the problem is located.
Good luck
