Tascam 34 b

Anybody has experience with this reel to reel machine. I got the possibility to buy one together with a Tascam DX-4D 4-channel DBX Noise Reduction System.

both would cost about 350 euros.

Is this reel to reel machine good for doing some home recording (band)?

Wow, it amazes me that nobody has answered this one yet.

The 34 is a good machine. Make sure you know this is what you want though. How many tracks are you working with now? If you are doing anything extensive, then you are going to be bouncing tracks quite a bit since you've only got 4. Some great stuff has been created on a 4 track, but if you are doing anything more than the basics, it will be some work. Not trying to talk you out of it, just letting you know what you might be in for.

If this is your first reel to reel machine, do some more research here, especially in the Analog Only forum on this board. Lots of maintenance, but it's a labor of love, if you stick to it.
