Tascam 32 Reel to Reel troubleshooting

Hi there,

we have a Tascam 32 reel to Reel tape machine that seems to have a few issues.
At the moment the first issue is that it seems to be stuck in EDIT MODE which means that the transport controls don;t work at all unless the Edit mode is switched in.

I've read the manual and couldn't figure out how to return to normal working mode so the transport control can return to normal working mode.

any ideas of what i might be doing wrong and/or should do to try and fix it ?
