Tascam 2524 Maintenance

Hello,

I have a Tascam 2524 recording console . it has been wonderful and reliable for many years.

Right now some of the Sliders are starting to get a little scratchy and cut out a bit.. especially the Master.

is there an easy way to clean these?
I have never opened it up before,.but I'm a little reluctant to take it to a service center.

I really love this console and hope it is something i can take care of.

You need some contact cleaner lubricant, like this, you should be able to give it a spray without having to open the console up. Just spay a little into the fader and work the fader up and down for a few moments. If you have to clean any of the rotary controls you will need to get into the back for the spray to work best.

You local electronics store will have something suitable, if you are not sure tell them what you want to do and they will advise the best product. Something like this.
