Tascam 244 problem!

I just got this tascam 244 off ebay and when i put in the tape it made a little humming but later made this really loud noise. When i looked further into this i noticed this button n i guess is making the noise (look at the picture) does this mean i need to repair it or can i fix it?? Please help!! Thanks!

The picture didn't show up here. I've owned a couple of them and never had a problem like that. Can you describe the button?

Yeah...no picture. If you can get that posted that would help and maybe describe the loud noise?

Are you having any other problems or is it otherwise working except fo the noise?
