Good afternoon Gentlemen, ;)

Does the 22-4 have "cal" indicators on the input/output knobs kinda like the 34B has or do you have to stumble in the dark to match the levels with your mixer ? Do you know what I mean ??

I guess the following "price" question is for "The Ghost of FM" (Jeff) as both he and I are from Canada ... What is a "good" price to pay for a "mint" 22-4 (with manual) locally ? There's a guy just 10 km from here who's selling one and he says $500 CND or best offer. If the recorder passes my inspection with flying colors, what should I offer him and what reasoning should I use for him to lower that price ? Obviously I don't wanna pay his asking price. ;) Any advice ??

Thanks! :)

Daniel

The 22-4 has input and output controls on the front for setting the levels.
Its not hard to set them at all.
I found this one on ebay for 175.00 and its in perfect condition.
I have seen one go for 300.00 a couple of weeks ago.

And here are some pics

No painted cal marks on them that I can see but usually "7" on the dial is unity gain for a perfectly calibrated deck or mixer from TASCAM.

As for fair pricing; It's hard to say?

Sometimes there is a higher value in being able to see something in person and check it out completely before you plunk down your coin to someone on the web and then pray it arrives in one piece or as described.

Myself, I would pay a bit more for the privilege of hands on but not tons more! ;)

If buddy want 500 and it's in great shape, offer him 300, referring to average Ebay pricing, and see his reaction to your street smarts...if he's smart he'll accept your offer, if he's greedy or dumb, remind him of all the effort he'll have to do to put up a page on Ebay, field e-mails and deal with shipping duties.

Good luck.

Cheers! :)

Thanks so much you guys but I just wasted a good chunk of drive time to find that the 22-4 was a dirty piece of shit stored in the guy's bathroom!

Needless to say, I didn't pursue with it ..

Sorry about that but thanks so much for answering my call. :) ;)
