tascam 112 transport timing.

Well, I pulled the 112 out of storage and all the belts had melted.Got replacements and did the work.When pressing play, the head base does not move-but I can move it manually so it's not jammed-and the rest head base adjustment appears to function correctly. I can hear the motors straining.There is a cam gear with a pot. to sense transport position.I marked the timing points before disassembling and reassembled what appeared to be correctly.There is no docs in the SM that addresses this.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I remember messing with something like this on my 234...I can’t recall specifics. I found the pages below in the 234 service manual but I don’t know if they are at all helpful.
