I came across this company in Oregon. I've never done anything with them so I pass their URL to you asis.....

http://www.splicit.com/index.html

Looks like they are a RMGI reseller. Empty reels and splicing tape.

The web pages could use some work but what the heck.

Hello Ethan. I work in Coquille. The owner of that site is a friend of mine. Small world huh? If I'm not mistaken, the site hasn't been updated since some tape company notified him and wanted him to buy in large quantities, which he cannot. That doesn't mean he don't sell tape. I don't know what the status is at the moment, but I'll see him today and will ask him.

7 degrees of separation.... I dated a girl from Coquille once.

Thanks for the input. Perhaps if he wants he can let you know his prices and the list could send some orders his way. Modest profit modest volume.

I often see the splicit guy selling RMGI tape on eBay. I'd personally suggest and you can let him know, Rick, that he should make his way over here, join in the discussions and make himself known as an authorized RMGI distributor. That many others, just like him, are not talking in forums such as this, is surprising. Heck, if I were a distributor, I'd join all the analog related discussions groups and make myself known that way. I'd certainly not spam the groups but rather be one of the guys who everyone knows for good advice and a source for RMGI tape.

That sounds like what Quantegy was doing that pissed off so many vendors. I’d be interested to find out if perhaps it was Quantegy and hopefully not RMGI.

Tim, just out of interest, are you in good communication with RMGI ? I recall they sent you some samples. Do you occassionally give them advice or potential strategies and do they listen ?

I've been in communication with Don Morris and US Recording Media about certain issues. Time will tell if they make the same mistakes as Quantegy.

With Quantegy basically everything I told them might happen if they don't do such and such did happen... but that's the story of my life, and being able to say "I told you so" isn't all what it's cracked up to be. Oh, it was fun when I was younger, but the thrill is gone. ;)

When I contacted US Recording Media about serious errors on their tape selection page they did reply very quickly but weren’t at all responsive to my suggestions, saying I was just one of a thousand people that have made suggestions. And indeed that page looks like it was thrown together by about a thousand people that have no idea what the hell they’re talking about. :p

    Wow guys. Man, you made my day. Cool.   I'm going to forward this link to him. I think you guys will make his day!!! Wow again. Hip hip HOORAY for the analog forum guys. Shit guys, me and him live and work in the little ole town of Coquille Oregon. Again, its a small and getting smaller Analog world. :D But its you guys that keep the smile going.
Ok, well I better work some overtime and get me a case of 1/2" before soon. I'ma gonna talk to Roger. :D
