I don't see how it was difficult to understand what I was talking about. I can't afford a legitimate tape deck, so I want to try my hand at transferring mixes to a cassette tape and back into PT, provided the tape recorder had at least mono ins/outs (considering recorders are dirt-ass cheap). Being that they're cheap, I give not one fuck if it ends up not being as effective as I'd like.
Boy...you really got a chip on your shoulder.
It has nothing to do with my difficulty of understanding...’cuz you didn't say anything that required any.
And now that you finally DID say something that actually provided some info (
I want to try my hand at transferring mixes to a cassette tape and back into PT)...it's very clear that you are having some difficulty in understanding the questions I originally asked and why.
Dude...I was trying to HELP you....that's why I asked the questions.
Transferring from PT to cassette and then back again is only going to DEGRADE your PT sources.
Now...if by not giving "one fuck" you mean to say you don't care if it degrades your PT sources...then by all means go for it.
But if what you are trying to "achieve" is to impart a tape quality/flavor to your mixes...then we go back to why I originally asked you the questions that I did. Basically...you are going about it all wrong...unless of course you WANT to degrade your PT sources.
To preserve your PT source and actually add some tape flavor, you need to consider a higher-end tape deck...not a cassette deck.
Like I originally said, adding some tape to flavor your mix isn’t like putting ketchup on your burger.
You don’t just throw some tape in there at some stage…but by all means, since you don’t give one fuck how effective it will be...
Oh…and what do you mean by
“as effective as I’d like”…?
What exactly is it that you are going for…what is it that you would like?
Again…if you remove the chip and explain what it is you really want to achieve…there are enough people here that know a heck of a lot about recording and tape decks…that you will actually get helpful answers.
Otherwise…if you’re just looking for cassette deck choices to buy from…try Google…you don’t need any help from us.
