tama starclassic owners out there!

I'm making my own drums and using the tama starclassic tom mounting system but I am not using tama lugs I am using mapex lugs, so what I need to know is the distance between the rod that screws into the lug and the shell of the drum. If any of you could give me a measurement that would be awesome. Your ruler should be perpendicular to the shell and should measure from the shell to the rod (bottom of the rod if you are looking at it straight on). I'm thinking all drums are universal on this measurement, but I just want to make sure.

Measurment is the same. I almost went with Star Classics, but went with Mapex Pro M kit. Couldn't hear or feel the difference.
