hi id like everyone to tell me which sets they like the most and why ?

any advice is greatly appreciated

I picked up a Mapex M-Maple kit recently, and I am quite happy with it. It has a great natural wood tone, and with a new Aquarian II batter head, the kick is amazing. Very punch and defined without a lot of low end slop.

Cheers,
Zach

Mapex, or one of the cheap gretsch set that are out now. I personally cannot stand Pearl. They consistently suck.

Any of the high end kits are good.

Of the low end stuff, my impression is that Tama are good, Pearl not quite so.

Good heads make a difference to any kit, i.e you can put nice new heads on a cheap ass kit and get a useable sound. Of course how long the sound remains good is another story

It WAS Pearl because of the hardware - I loved those cymbal stands - but since they've begun changing the hardware again - I'm not so sure I like it.

I'm personally a Pearl guy for life. To me, nothing beats Pearl...for beginner, intermediate, pro, and above.

I play an SMX...AMAZING kit. It sounds amazing even with the stock heads. I've kept mine and it's been almost 9 months.
