I'm playing drums for a second band, and using the singer's kit. She bought the drums (Tama Rockstars) used knowing nothing about them, and let me tune, muffle and set them up however I wanted.
The other night, I wanted to adjust the angle of my snare drum, and when I went to retighten the bolt (the one that fits through the toothed circular assembly, with an inner spring - it's like an elbow), I found it stripped, as though someone had really cranked down on it before. I opened the elbow piece and sure enough, about 6-7 threads' worth of bolt was stripped badly. I was able to get the elbow to stay together but it's a matter of time before it fails and my snare droops perpendicular to the floor.
Is it possible to get just the bolt from a music store, or even a hardware store, or do I have to buy the whole snare stand or "elbow" assembly? I guess this is Tama's bottom of the line hardware, and it's not even mine, but I feel obligated to fix her property.
Thanks for any help.
