Hi Everybody,

I use the Aark DP 24/96. Does anyone know of a simple dedicated talkback mic system out there? I'm going to build a control room/booth scenario soon in my basement. While I know it won't end up being completely sound proof, I would still either be yelling at the performer through glass, or walking in there every 5 minutes.

Thanks!

Also, thanks to all for replies regarding my control room window - which I am in the process of drafting in detail.

What will you use for monitoring? Which output do you route to his headphones, is this directly a mixed output from your pc? What is the rest of your current setup? Do you run everything directly to your audio interface, or do you use a mixer in between?

The simplest way for doing this would be, get a headphone amplifier and route that from a mixer where you mix a mic in with your monitor mix. It all depends on the number of channels and groups/aux on your mixer...

oops sorry...not enough info on my part.

I run a very small setup in terms of recording solists. I will probably never have more than two folks recording at once - usually vocalist or instrument.

Right now everything is in one room thus, I use headphones for things recorded with the mic. It gets old, but that's where it is currently.

I don't use an external board - just the software driven stuff.

I like the idea of a headphone amplifier (which I need anyway), I just don't know how that would interface with the DP2496.

thanks
