Okay, I needed a talk back mic for my control room to talk to the person with headphones on. Rather than just plugging in a mic, and turning it down when I'm not talking, I got a pushbutton switch into the loop and it works GREAT.
Problem:
I used to use an SB live and so I had one of those cheap computer mics which worked. I got a digi001 with diff inputs and a simple adapter 1/8" to 1/4" didn't work. So I got a diff cheap mic. The weird thing: It's a hard wired cable but the 1/4 jack adapter (included) and the 1/8 jack on it are both TRS. When I stripped the cable and opened it...there are only two wires. The problem is that I'm still not getting audio. I plug it into my computer....works fine. Plug it into my digi 001 doesn't really work at all. Digi inputs are TRS, but I also tried putting it in half way and also used a 1/8 trs to 1/4 ts converter.(It's not the digi, when I use my sm57 it works)
I assume it has to do with impedances or something but I don't understand. Does anyone know why these computer mics with trs jacks don't work in a normal mic pre?
