I got 2 v67m's from Mars music.$211 shipped. One sounds great, the other has a loud ground hum,if you touch the mic it gets louder. They we're both connected one at a time into a Mindprint into vs 1680.I called Mars & they o.k ed a return on their dime.Has anyone else had a bad 67 ground wise?I'm getting another one next week, thanks ,Stan

I wouldnt worry about it to much, It happens to any and all gear

We could have saved you a little time if you'd have asked here first. The shell wasn't making a good ground to the body. All ya had to do was remove the big knurled knob at the bottom of the mic, pull off the bottom shell, and just use a little sand paper on the inside edges of the shell to insure a better connection. Problem solved.

I had a problem with my V67g from 8thStreet. It crackled and sometimes it cut out. I returned it and should get a new one back finally monday. I have been waiting a long time for this one I hope it is worth it. I mean it is probably my fault for getting a mic mail order, but I have had relatively good luck before this one. I have even ordered a Peavey 520i online and it was fine, and those things are mostly plastic, but it has such a nice sound on my bass drum.

You know what, the first v67 didn't even come with a sticker. I am annoyed by that. Alesis, Behringer, and many others always come with stickers. I normally use the stickers to let me know what side of the mic case is the lid, so that I don't accidentally open it upside down. I mean this is really trivial, but sometimes it the little things that make all the differences. Considering this didn't come with the case I guess I am not that mad. I just can't wait to finally have this sweet mic I have heard so much good stuff about. If it sounds as nice as everyone said, I won't mind the wait and the worries.

Hi,I still have the mic.Mars gave me a ups call back #,& they have'nt picked it up .Harvey will that sanding the inside void any warrenty ? I might try it today.I'll post any findings after i take a look, thanks,Stan

No, you won't void the warrantee. Just sand it lightly on the INSIDE lip to remove any stray paint drops.

Thanks for your help Harvey.I took the shell apart, the inside was painted solid black.Rather then try to sand the paint down to bare
metal & possibly still have a ground problem i opted to send to it
back & get anther one.I'll let you know how it works when i get it,thanks,Stan :)

Just got another one from Mars.Plugged it in & it sounds great.I'm tracking some vocals this weekend,i'll post results. I also have a C1 & NTK so i'll compare it to those. If it continues the work it appears to be a great addition for $100,Stan
[i'm still waiting for Mars to give me credit for shipping, other than that they were helpful on the return]

Tracked some rock vocals sun. thru dmp2.Sounded good ,very similer to the C1.My friend who has the other one is tracking r&b vocals thru a Art tube mp,& he likes the results. For $100 i might get another,Stan:D
