Hi, I have recorded some songs with the Reaper program and I want to show some of my friends what I've done by posting the songs onto my myspace. How do I transfer songs from Reaper to Myspace? Danke

In Reaper, got to File/Render.

This brings up a dialogue box. You can render your song as a WAV or an MP3.

If you choose MP3, this will create a file that you can then load up to MySPace.

However, my preference would be to render as a WAV, which is better quality if you want to, say, put it on a CD. You can then convert this WAV to an MP3 for putting up on the web or emailing around.

Thanks for the help gecko. I've tried to render one of my songs to MP3 but it says "Error: I need lame_enc.dll to encode MP3". I also rendered the song to WAV file and it like filed it on my media player as a video with the music--you know one of those "trippy" videos with crazy patterns, colors, etc that goes along with the music. I do not know where to go from here--meaning, cani I upload this to my myspace?

yowsers.

The *wav* file that it saved.. .didn't save it with those images. Media player just makes those up on the fly for any song. Pay attention when you make the wave to where the program puts it, then go look for the wav file.

For the lame encoder.. i just googled 'lame_enc.dll'... go here to download it. http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=290&package_id=309&release_id=628063

Once dowloaded you will have to extract it into a file on your computer, then you need to tell Reaper where it is. (That error message you were getting probably tells you how, or has a button for 'find lame dll')

Good luck!

Yep just download the lame_enc.dll and place it in C:\Program Files\REAPER (or wherever you installed Reaper)

You might have to compile it if you get it straight from their website (I can't remember..), but if you just google "lame_enc.dll" you'll find one pre-compiled.

It's real easy. Let us know if you need any help. :)

Anybody know if Lame is the only encoder to get an MP3 render from Reaper?

I have it, and it works fine, I'm just curious as to if there are any alternatives.

Lame does not ship WITH Reaper do to a legal issue, right?
