I was so excited when I read in SONAR 2 Power about the Tablature view option in the Staff view! When I went eagerly scrambling to look for it in my lowly HomeStudio 2002, I could not find it. :( Now, I've heard lots of folks say that pretty much the main difference between HS and its big brother SONAR is the number of tracks that can be recorded at the same time. Is this Tab feature unfortunately another thing that can only be found in SONAR, or do I need to look somewhere special or do some configuration to get that to be an option in my HS2002? Anybody use this - how easy to use have you found it to be?

Thanks!
-Jeff

In Staff view (Sonar), there's a button for layout with a drop-down list. The drop-down give's a quick tab option and the button....

Thanks, Torpid-x, for your help. :)

Unfortunately, it looks like HomeStudio does not have this feature. Don't know how Tablature view would be any more geared toward a "professional" musician than an "amateur" to justify its exclusion from HomeStudio - in fact, I would think it would be more appropriate for the less professional crowd. Ehh, screw it... Guess it serves me right for reading the SONAR book when I only have HomeStudio - otherwise, I wouldn't know what I was missing.

Your not missing much, staff view is one of those features that sounds good on paper but isn't very useful in reality, the track and plug-in limit is the real problem.

Sonar isn't meant to be a full featured transcriber either, even though they could easily include those features.

I use the staff view often. It's the easiest way for me to program strings etc. The guitar tabs are also very usefull to program your guitar parts, especially bass guitar.
