Captain Sea Boots
First off, I have just recently started venturing into the world of synths. I am using the free VST Synth1 in Tracktion2. There are a bunch of sounds I like, but I don't want to put them all on separate tracks (don't want to overload the laptop). Is there another way to do this? In other words, can I get all these different sounds out of Synth1 without having 8 tracks all with individual Synth1 plug-ins on them. Thanks, and I apologize if this is a dumb question.

Synth 1 is monotimbral, meaning it only produces one sound from every instance of the plugin you have active in your arrangement.

Fortunately, it's CPU comsumption is low enough that on my system I can run 8 instances and not really tax my 'puter. Any plugin that you can only run one or two instances of is termed a 'CPU hog' and Synth 1 is not one of those.
