I've heard about being able to sync up two or more sound modules, in my case I would be attempting to sync up two Tritons, and a couple of Korg's electribes. I'm wondering if anyone knows first, if this is do-able only with like products (ie Korg--Korg, Yamaha--Yamaha, etc.), and second, if they have a good method of doing so relatively easy and pain free?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

syncing can be done on all brands, since the sync reference is midi data..
all you need to do is to have one of the tritons to work as a master and set all the other modules up to use external sync. if you use a computer sequencer, you can put that one on master.

then all you need to do is to take cables from the triton/computer, plug 'em into one modules MIDI IN, and then take a cable from that devices MIDI THRU and put it into another modules MIDI IN, then one from MIDI THRU to another MIDI IN, and soforth.. you can have a virtually endless amount of different gear synced up this way.
if you have a midi patchbay, it gets even easier..
if you tell me how you want the gear connected and which will be master/slave and shit like that, i'll be happy to assist you in the connecting proces.

More importantly, what do you mean by 'sync'? If you just want to play them all from one controller then definately. If you want to sync up the onboard sequencers then that will be a pain.

nope.. you can make all the modules respond to start/stop midi signals and to sync from external clock.. so when you start one device, the rest will start.. the pain will be in the sequencing itself..

Thats what I mean. Why bother if you are stuck using different 16ch hardware sequencers. If that was the case any software sequencer would be better.

I agree to an extent that software sequencers are more useful and all around better, I just want to be able to "jam" with a couple other buddies. Anyways, will sort out the particulars of my friends gear and hit you up on your offer Chriss, thanks alot BTW!
